Today in class we began discussing the Bill of Rights!  There were a lot of "what if" type questions as students were interested what rights they have in certain situations.  You can see what we were discussing today and will continue to discuss on Monday below:

Articles 4-7

Today in class we discussed the remaining articles of the Constitution.  We focused mainly on Article 5, which is about amending the Constitution.  You can see what we discussed below:


Students had a reading assignment and questions to answer today as well.  The Constitution Test is next Friday!

Navigating the Court Systems

Today in class we played Court Quest.  Students had to play the game and then complete two questions based on the game.

The Electoral College

Today in class we took a look and played around with the interactive electoral map to learn more about the Electoral College.  Today we focused on how a president gets elected and why we do not use the popular vote to elect the president.  Tomorrow, we are going to play Win the White House in class!

Who's the President???

Today in class we practiced the presidential line of succession.  Students were assassins and terrorists who created chaos in our government.  With each scenario we had to figure out who the president was.  We also discussed the "designated survivor" and how a person is kept safe to maintain the continuity of our government.  The electoral college is tomorrow!
